Why I Wrote This Book
I wrote this book because, as a parent, I’ve been faced with challenging questions that I asked myself countless times. How should parents effectively support their children during a crisis happening in their home? How do we heal our families from generational trauma? What does it mean to follow God when dealing with a family crisis?

Unless we heal our childhood wounds, history will impact how we live and how we parent. I suffered in silence for a long time until I embraced sharing my story for the sake of building up others who are struggling to talk about traumatic life experiences as an integral part of my healing journey in order to move forward. I figured out that sharing vulnerability builds community.

The tremendous amount of pressure to fit the expectations of others did not allow me to speak boldly about my painful childhood memories until this pivotal moment — writing Precious Rising: Embracing All That I Am. Although the childhood adversity I faced is forever etched in my memory, I use my passion to push through to help others overcome their difficult situations through being unafraid to expose their hidden truths. Our children deserve better.
